The weight of an object is a measure of the gravitational force acting on a body. It is not the same as the mass of a body.

Applications & Formulae

The weight of a body can be defined in a formula:

W\ =\ \ mg

Where:

  • W is the weight of the object.
  • m is the mass of the object.
  • g is the value of the acceleration due to gravity.
