The Pont Du Gard is an aqueduct near Nimes in the south of France. It is studied on the Classical Studies course as a Roman Aqueducts as part of Roman Art and Architecture


The Pont Du Gard

  • It has a height of 49,
  • It has a base of six huge lower arches, which are fronted with triangular cutwaters
  • The second and third row consist of 11 then 35 arches respectively, each arch being smaller than the one below.
