Kinetic Energy
Subject: Applied Mathematics & Physics
Level Ordinary & Honours

Kinetic energy is defined as the energy that a body has due to its motion.

An example of an object with kinetic energy would be a golf ball in motion.

Applications & Formulae

The kinetic energy of a body can be written as a formula:

E_{k}\ =   \frac{1}{2}mv^{2}

Where:

  • E_{k} is the kinetic energy of the body.
  • m is the mass of the body.
  • v is the velocity of the body.
