Revenge
The theme of revenge, being the most obvious theme in the play, but not always played out as such. In fact, Hamlet's inability to act could be most likely caused by the education he recieved, forcing him to contemplate instead of annihilate. This becomes obvious in his own soliliquies that his procrastination is eating him away on the inside. His swift murder of Polonius in the closet scene marks a change in Hamlet's resolve. The fact he is able to act swiftly without thinking.
